How has the FSU vs. Miami CCG worked out for the ACC?

It is pretty obvious to everyone that the ACC is no Hannibal Smith. I doubt this "plan" will end up with the desired results for the ACC and/or ESPN.

Something to keep in mind regardless of which division Notre Dame is placed in, a division with 8 teams and a division with 7 teams can't play a round robin division schedule and still play a total of 8, 9, or even 10 conference games. The math doesn't work out for all the teams in either division. The MAC learned that lesson when it had 13 football teams and played an 8 game conference schedule. You will see the ACC will learn it too (assuming the season is not canceled or pushed back to Spring). If you doubt me, then take a look at the 2011 football season for the MAC. You will discover this is how the divisions look for the MAC

East (7): Akron, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Kent State, Miami (OH), Ohio, and Temple (football only member)

West (6): Ball State, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, Toledo, and Western Michigan

If you take at look at everyone's conference schedule, then you will discover that not everyone played a round robin division schedule. Below is Bowling Green's 2011 conference schedule.

9/24 @Miami (OH)
10/8 @WMU
10/15 Toledo
10/22 Temple
10/29 @Kent State
11/8 No. Illinois
11/16 Ohio
11/25 @Buffalo

If you notice, then you should see that Bowling Green didn't play Akron that year. If you look at Kent State's 2011 schedule, then you should discover that Kent State didn't play Buffalo that year. The MAC ran into the same issue when UMass took Temple's place as a football only member in 2012. It will be the same way for the ACC with 15 football members. The only question the ACC has to answer is which team(s) won't get to play a round robin division schedule. It could be 1 team or it could be multiple teams depending on what adjustments the ACC decides to make to the schedules this year.
